If you have read my blog posts, received past issues of my newsletter, or if you have received treatments from me, you have probably noticed me referring to the iteaplus.com Jin Shin self-care website app. It’s free and available thanks to funding from the Bacon Family Fund to the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Dr. T.D. Hernandez’s “Stress Resilience Fund”.
I’d like to inform you about some of its specific features that may motivate you to use it. Our goal is to have Jin Shin self care become a regular part of your wellness and/or trauma healing practice. To this end, we’ve designed the site to be easy to use and well-guided.
To simplify using the site, I’ll refer you primarily to two tabs on the home screen: the Best Practices and Tutorials tab, and the Resources tab. In almost all cases, clicking on any of the drop-down menu selections will take you to short 1- to 2 1/2-minute training videos.
It’s important to remember that Jin Shin self-care treatment is cumulative—the more you do, the more rapidly your body’s energy system responds and maintains its balance. That’s why we recommend frequent, if not daily, self care.
Best Practices tab and drop-down menu options:
Fingers—the simplest Jin Shin self-care there is that you can do anytime and anywhere without being obvious about it. Photographs and text but no videos.
Training Modules–self-care and training videos for symptoms associated with specific populations and health conditions such as mild traumatic brain injury/veterans, and students.
Symptoms—training videos for 7 common issues such as stress, immunity, cold/flu prevention, balance and grounding, migraines, and calming.
Daily Practice—video-led training options for 5-, 10-, or 20-minute self care regimens for general daily care, welcoming the day, letting go of the day, stress, and immunity.
Resources tab and drop-down menu options:
Finding Your Symptom – lists of physiological, structural, or mental/emotional symptoms. Clicking on the symptom of choice leads you training videos for the selected symptom.
Download and Print – training cards containing practices and anatomical charts addressing four common symptoms for specific populations
Personalized Treatment Plan – Contact us describing your health concerns, and we’ll send you a free month-long self-care program that trains you via the site videos.
May 2020 be a year of balance and harmony for you!
