How it Works
The Jin Shin TARA energy balancing treatment system is effective because of the following key elements:
At the heart of the work is an 8-session treatment series comprised of 2 sessions per week for 4 weeks. This is based on the decade of clinical research studies evaluating the effectiveness of Jin Shin acupressure for certain kinds of trauma. These studies revealed a treatment structure that optimizes positive results. Eight sessions provides a frequency of energetic input that allows for the loosening of the rigid traumatic organization in your nervous system.
Before the treatments begin, there is a free initial hour-long phone conversation that identifies your main physiological, mental and emotional symptoms as well as the frequency with which you experience these. We also come up with three treatment goals for the work. These focusing statements 1) clarify the terrain of our work together, 2) give us both a baseline against which we can evaluate your progress periodically over the course of the sessions, and 3) provide me with essential information for creating my treatment plan through the lens of Oriental medicine and the neurobiology of trauma.
The first 4 sessions of the series provide a gentle foundation of stability and balance in your nervous system as well as allowing you to have a positive experience of what it feels like to be in your body.
The last 4 sessions utilize the more powerful Extraordinary Meridian treatments. In short, these meridians are a deeper, more primal energetic system that are associated with spirituality and consciousness. Since they are not constrained in their activity like the regular meridians, they are able to intercommunicate with the other ordinary meridians. It is in these last four sessions that the unraveling of the deeper traumatic re-patterning can occur.
During sessions I use body-based intentional dialogues and creative expression that help generate awareness of how trauma is organized in your body. These additional "legs" of Jin Shin TARA help you create new neurological pathways that can help loosen the grip of the pathways in your brain and nervous system currently dominating your sensations and responses.
After each session I provide Jin Shin self care so that you can continue the energetic balancing at home. I can't emphasize enough how important self care is. It has a preventive function in terms of increasing your resiliency, helps to stabilize and sustain the positive internal change, as well as gives you tools to use in the moment when you get activated.
At the end of each session I use aromatherapy to support the internal calm and balance you experience during the session.
At the end of the 8 session series we have a free integration phone call to help you celebrate and review the changes you have experienced during your during your Jin Shin TARA journey.
